In 1969 Rocklabs was established as a commercial laboratory specialising in geochemical analysis
and fire assaying. In 1975 Rocklabs commenced manufacture of sample preparation equipment on
a commercial basis. In 1997 Certified Reference Materials were added to the range of products.
In 2008 Rocklabs was acquired by
Scott Technology Limited, a New Zealand owned, publicly held
engineering company that specialises in the design and manufacture of automated production and
process machinery. The primary markets are the global appliance industry and meat processors
worldwide.
Rocklabs has an experienced team of Geochemists, Chemists, Geologists, Engineers, Designers and
Specialists in Automation and Robotics. This experience and expertise has given Rocklabs a
unique understanding of the requirements and protocols of sample preparation procedures within
mining and research laboratories.

combination of two or more machines built-in with
minimal operator action. Automation allows for
samples to be loaded as batches with minimal or no
operator involvement. If robots are required, we can
incorporate into the Automated Systems as well.
